Indian head massage is used through generations in India, to benefit the whole body in a physical, mental, and energy aspect. Using herbal oil the head, upper arms, neck & shoulders are massaged to provide instant relief from tension and stress symptoms and induce a state of calm, peace and tranquillity.
- First, during an initial consultation, your therapist does a postural analysis and asks about any muscles that need special attention.
- Then your therapist leaves the room to allow you to undress with complete privacy. While outside, your therapist adds fragrant, essential oils to the massage cream or oil.
- Once you are ready, your therapist starts with the shoulders, working into this area especially as it often holds a lot of tension. The upper back may also be massaged working around the shoulder blade. Following this, flowing motions will move up the neck massaging and stretching to relieve any stress and tension. Finally, the scalp is then massaged along with the acupressure points on the head, followed up by the forehead and the area around the eyes.
- After the massage, your therapist discusses a self-care plan and recommends follow-up treatments, if necessary.
